My home
Is the tasty smell of food
When you walk through the door,
Is those bad sci-fi movies
Four on a couch made for two,
Is the same music every day
from untouchable records,
Is extremely long board games
Played between fights and laughs,
Is a house that seems too small for four.
My home is never silence
Or a break from the crowdedness.
But now far from home what’s left to enjoy?
Pictures of suppers
And taste left to mind,
Nothing to watch
On a comfortable chair,
Memories of music
That never goes on,
Me, myself and I
Not fighting or laughing, winning or losing,
Always alone in the heavy silence
And never a break from the emptiness of every place,
In a room that seems too big to be just for me.
My home is never silence
Or a break from the crowdedness,
And there’s nothing I miss more
than my imperfect home.
